I was working the 222 Spring Sprint and took a break to join the Pacific NW Weak Signal Net on 144.240.
KG7YOL before me said he was vertically challenged, so he didn’t make any calls. I took the opportunity to show him vertical will work. Maybe I was cheating a little being about 600 ft higher on a hill, but I was only using 50 watts and an 18 inch mobile antenna and made two 100+ mile contacts.
